While I'm sure there are some RedGage users who would say that they have been paid by the site, most people will eventually come to see it as a scam.
Fair enough it is a social bookmarking site and you are lucky to be paid anything for posting back links, but they also claim to pay people a pitiful amount to post photos and blogs, and I think it's wrong for a site to tell people they will pay when they don't in most cases.
I'll tell you why RedGage is a scam for non US citizens. I got my first cashout of $25, and it took four months for them to send me my Visa card, which I took to two service stations after activating, and couldn't buy petrol like they said I could.
I activated the card the right way on the activation site, but there was one other part of the site where you have to register the card or you won't be able to continue to receive further electronic transfers of money to the card, and only US citizens can register.
I still haven't been able to work out how to get the $25 off the card, but maybe it's because I told the guy I had $25 in it, when there is a $2 fee deducted initially to pay for the card, a $2 fee for each transaction when using it internationally, and a 5% processing fee for each transaction. The attendants seemed to think that the card could not be used at all, and I tried a few times.
They said contact my financial institution, in this case a gift card site that has no customer support except for a US phone number that would cost me a pile of money to call.
The reason why Redgage pays via a Visa gift card is because they know that in 90% of cases, they don't have to pay, because people will have so much trouble getting their money, they will just give up. That's why RedGage is a scam, and even as a back link, their site is practically useless.
She Told Me does better in a Google search, and if you have a Google Adsense account, they will pay you through them. Unfortunately I lost my Google Adsense account, so the only way I can make money from low quality back links to my articles is by monetizing my blogs on Blogger and Typepad.
I have Amazon ads on my free blog SEO Articles, and by editing a free Typepad blog post, I can also paste in a code in the html for any sort of banner or ad on my blog Info on Everything. Anyway, Redgage is a scam, at least it was for me, and I won't bother posting links there anymore. Leave comments if you agree or disagree.
I was able to use my RedGage Visa Card on amazon.co.uk, but wasn't too happy about the $2 fee. I haven't asked for a further transfer yet - was hoping perhaps they would send another card. That remains to be seen.
interesting article.thanks
This is the 2nd anti-Redgage article I've read. Unfortunately, few of us can afford even one scam. It tarnishes our reputation and negatively impacts our web presence.
It may not be a scam, per se', but it is definitely way to restrictive for any good use. I can certainly see how their behavior as a "company" would make you say they are a scam, and you are right to say so. The word scam will get the attention of others, and the word on international limitations should be told! Good job!
Presently I have only accumulated a little over $5.00 on the site. I wasn't aware of the fee but did know people not in the US have difficulty with the card. I haven't been too active there lately which just may be a good thing since there does seem to be some question as to its worth. If I ever cash out, I will be sure to report it. LOL
I knew it. Thanks Rowan
I'd kind of thought as much... but it's useful for traffic, if nothing else.
I got $6.78 at Redgage and I'm wondering how I could withdraw it when the time come with that VISA Card especially am a non-US. Good WARNING! Thanks for sharing...
I was able to use this redgage visa card only once. I still have 75 dollars which I can't withdraw since November last year. This site is really a scam!

Totally agreed. I joined a couple of years ago, had the gift card sent out to me and was never able to even activate it properly. Needless to say, I gave up. What's worse though this that there is no option to delete your account. In help, there is a "How easy is it to delete your account?" option, that's it. Gotta fill out a contact for or direct email them. I've requested to have my account closed more times than I can count - do you think it's been done? 4(?) years on and my account and content is still up there.
It's not a scam!
You creeps are just losers!
I have tried so many times to cancel my account on this site, which is the worst scam I've come across, to no avail. ..shit. one can sign up but you can never get out; they're only after your hard earned money--that's the real score!
this site does not pay, especially to non us members like me, they just fool you with a visa card with a 25 dollar on it and the rest is history, don't waste your time on this scam site.
Redgage is a scam shit. Before I reached the 25 dollar pay, they stole it!
The only reason it is difficult to use outside the US is because it doesn't have chip and pin. I have written a small article which explains how you can withdraw from your RedGage card easily using paypal if you are a NON-US resident... http://redgage.com/blogs/tiggerfan/how-to-withdraw-from-your-redgage-card-if-you-are-a-non-us-resident.html
I received my card not too long ago and thought I had finished the activation process. I live in the US, that part won't be a problem. Maybe I'll have to check again. I could really use the $25 that's on there.
B
I use PayPal to withdraw money off the RedGage card as I Live in the UK, go to this article to find out how to do it.. It Works: http://redgage.com/blogs/tiggerfan/how-to-withdraw-from-your-redgage-card-if-you-are-a-non-us-resident.html
RedGage pay me for the first time...but now they dont pay it anymore. So I called them a semi scam.
Ha! Redgage is bullshit, you guys are only wasting your time, you cannot even delete your accounts so they continue stealing your money!
It's not a scam, I have made 3 withdrawals already.
I have made 2 withdrawals and received the money ok, So it's not a scam... The only reason people are calling this a scam is because they haven't got a clue how to make this site work for them. After an initial slow start, I'm now making around $60-$100 at a month at RedGage.
Red Gage is not a scam. There are many people who have uploaded stolen content, in violation of the terms of service, and they don't get paid. Those who use bots to generate fake page views also don't get paid. Those of us who upload original content and generate honest, human views do get paid. While the site did have a glitch in Feb and again in July, they have been working on ways to correct it and prevent it from happening again. The Visa card was chosen for payment because Paypal is not available in all countries and some have had security issues with it. I've seen many cases where members provided an undeliverable address and did not receive their card, or it took a long time to get because of the country they live in. There is nothing Red Gage, or any other site, can do about that.
Delays in payment are most often the result of Red Gage having to verify views on accounts with suspicious activity. Scammers, spammers, and content thieves hold up the process for everyone. The majority of Red Gage members are abiding by the terms of service, and we are getting paid. I have personally received over $800 in the last year. My card works everywhere, every time.
I'm one year on this site, I'm not US citizen (I'm from Poland). I received my card after one month - everything was fine, I earned there 700$, recived 375$ to my card (last cleared withdrawal was yesterday - for 25$) and bought few useful things using RG Visa in british Amazon. I was really happy.
So what's the problem on this site?
First - delays with payment (latest - on June and July earnings and unsolved problem with delay of funds from...January).
Second - poor support (they will respond to your e-mails sometimes).
Third - they're not treat all users fair (example with those latest delays - some of the users didn't received their money for June, top earners and rest of users - received).
I don't know what to think about RG now. Previously I had good opinion (site wasn't very good in all aspects, but just ok), now due to latest issues my opinion has changed and it's not good opinion.
I joined RG with one reason - to make money. I did the same work as the others (like top of the earners) and I (with the other members) have those issues now. I'm tired of waiting for my money and excuses with promises that those things will be fixed. If all users were waiting the same time like me and havn't those updates like me - I could accept it. But it really pisses me off when user who have his money is talking that I have to be patient or try to do something else in the meantime or trying different approach on RG... They're smart, because they are not waiting long time for money - as me and other members. Point of view depends of the point of the seat.
I'm surprised that RG does nothing to solve (or they're doing it very slowly) all those latest issues with money (because from months I don't see positive results). There's more and more of negative opinions about this site now (with opinion from people who tried to cheat RG, so those opinions are not always fair).
Summarizing - RG is not a scam, but I will start to think that when with the first days of September I will not see at last half of my earned/missing money on my account. I really like this site, but day after day it's hard to think positive about it...
To be totally and completely honest, the site went from being on the up and up into now where is has become a full blown scam. Jag is correct, many people do upload stolen , but that fails to address what is currently the trend at redgage, honest hard working long time members not getting paid. Jag points out correctly, problems began back in Feb., but one does not need to be a master mind to figure out it does not take seven months to address a money problem, and if it takes seven months, then maybe they should look into another line of work.
Seven months of mainly silence on redgage part, and no sign of funds coming through the pipeline, in the meantime, the number of members who are missing earnings updates continue to grow, at some point, it will be beyond their ability to catch up with all those missing funds. Many are now reporting one to three months of missing earnings, and they get a wall of silence from redgage staff, not surprising, since they are unable to pay everyone.
I am lucky, I only have two missing months, July and August, but I really feel bad for those holding out hope for some future payment that is not going to come.
As far as paypal goes, bullshit. All I have heard from redgage is the story of how unsafe paypal is, and how wonderful their gift cards are. Do a Gooigle search, redgage scam, and see for yourself just how wonderful those cards really are. Most can't activate them and when they do, they are either empty of funds or have only part of what they are due on them, can anyone say scam. All those unclaimed funds go back to the site, because they are gift cards. In reality, the reality the real gift is for redgage, who gets to walk away with all those earnings it's members should be getting.
With paypal, they could not pull that shit, every penny would stay in the paypal system, and could not be touched by redgage. And if redgage claims were true, then why is paypal the method of making payments on the internet? Enough said. It is not paypal that can't be trusted, it's redgage.

Like Factoidz isn't a scam - This site is nothing but the BIGGEST SCAM ON THE WEB!!
I have no problems with Redgage, and have earned over $600 so far and sucessfully withdrawn $450 of that into my paypal account
TW... Has Factoidz done something bad? I've not had any trouble with them. Redgage is something I don't understand too well. Christopher, can you give me more info? kdp
I laugh when I read some of the replies below, big deal, you have been been paid once or twice - I have in fact been paid over a dozen times, what does that prove? I judge a site by it's recent history, and to date, it has not been good. And for the record, I have been paid close to $500 to date, it's the other $450 the site owes me that is the problem. First my account got messed up, after several months it finally got fixed, in the meantime my visa card expired. I requested a new card, now that my account was fixed, and was told they can't issue me one at this time, the site is in the process of switching to a new card program. I have asked repeatedly when I can expect to finally have access to the $450 they still owe me, They refuse to reply to my emails, no surprise, they rarely reply to anyone's emails. So due to no fault of my own, I have had zero access to my earnings all this past year, WTF is up with that.....
So before you come on here and preach how the site pays and it's not a scam, get your facts straight - there are many members at that site all having major problems gaining access to their earnings, and the site has given out many different reasons why they can't pay at this time. In reality, there is only one reason a site can't pay all it's members, and that's because it simply doesn't have the funds to pay everyone.
I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are having with RG, The only problem I've had was a late account update, but I emailed them with a screenshot and had a reply within 3 days, then my account was updated about a week after that, so far I've had no further problems. I've heard that there are many others having problems too, but I can gladly say.. up to now... I'm OK, they must like me!
RedGage needs to change to paying people through Paypal, all people, from all around the world. I have heard I can use my card to buy something on Amazon, although it's only good for one cash-out. I still haven't gotten around to it. Some would say that Factoidz is a scam if they get their account downgraded to member. I've been here for over a year, same as RedGage, and while I don't write here all that often anymore, I'm still getting paid every month. It's not easy to make money online at all. First year I made a dollar a day, second maybe two a day, and now I'm making up to or over twenty a day.
Christopher McPhail:
Yes - I have quite a few articles on Factoidz and when I questioned why I had 1,000 page views on an article and only made 5 cents in revenue I was demoted. They kept my articles and have not payed me further. That was about a year ago. This site is nothing but a con game. Don't believe me? complain about something here and you'll see......
I have started posting videos, photos and articles in that site and I got $ 0.24 in few minutes which took for 3 days in other PTC sites. I was encourage how this being work until I realize that their payment scheme is not clear. I am from the Philippines and Im feeling the same sentiment to you. Thanks for the info atleast as early as now, I \was able to picture out the RedGage work. http://www.farmvillefcu.com/
Ricky, the site pays through a gift card, which is by Visa program, and it can get confusing if you live outside the U.S., but I have friends in the Philippines who are on RG and they have been paid in the past, you just have to find a online site that will take the gift card, or do as some do and have your gift card money placed into paypal (have no idea how it is done.)
If you recently joined the site, you will soon win what they claim is a fair and honest daily drawing, a $50 gift card. It is no surprise no one winners the drawing twice, and the majority of winners have been at the site for a month or less. In reality, the daily drawing is about as rigged as a communist election. They do pay out the $50 prize money, that part is real, but the real intention of that daily contest is to pay newcomers a quick payday to get them hooked on the site, you upload a ton of content, they collect the money, and you are left wondering when, if ever you will get paid again. This is not only my own experience, many have suffered the same fate.

HI
I posted an article on Ufodigest yesterday and today I was googling the title to see how far it had travelled only to find myself on redgage looking at a page that was showing me how to make paper birds. This is just link stealing - taking people to sites that have nothing to do with the subject matter covered in the article.
Why google is allowing This?
I have been finding this happening to me more and more at various sites, and it really drives me crazy. I am not sure how Google would go about stopping it, if they could. Nice debate on here, looks like a lot of people have had different experiences with redgage. My account there got sidetracked months ago, and still I can't access my earnings. I wrote on Liz's wall about it - twice, and got no reply. I also contacted her through email, no reply. I contacted support, got the usually automated message, someone from support will be in contact with you within 48 hours - past experience has taught me not to hold my breath, support never ever gets back to me, so for now, my funds are in limbo. I have over $300 I can't touch and for me, a lot of the fun has gone out of redgage. It is my hopes that this will get resolved soon.
Sometimes I have found that because something is in the "related" section on a redgage page, that it goes to that page it is listed on as related, even though the page itself is about something else. Thirdstone, how do you mean you can't access your earnings? Is it not showing or do you not know where to look for it?
Does anyone know how this site pays it's writers? Is it through paypal?

See ironically, I don't even want the money I've earned on there. Its not about the money. Its about the fact that for almost 5 years now, I've wanted my account to be removed from there and it still hasn't/won't happen. I have removed my content from every other site I had it on bar Flickr and Facebook, yet everything is still up there (even when I have MANUALLY gone through and deleted stuff). All I want is for RedGage to remove my acccount and my content. Do I believe its going to happen? Nope.
Hi Lauren. My wife had the same problem, for nearly a year she repeadedly tried to get them to close her account. She finally began writing very strong letters to them and they shut it down. I do see people on there have their accounts shut down all the time, just repeadedly break the rules, post a bunch of photos copied from other sites, do some swearing, or post porn, that works really fast. Facebook is another site that won't let you completely remove your account, there really should be some new laws passed giving members of these sites some rights.
I have been on RedGage for about a month now, posting links and photos. I have noticed that their advertisement isn't very aggressive, making me think that they really don't have much money to pay their users. After reading all of this, I am thinking that backing off for a while is a wise thing to do. Perhaps I will work with my SheToldMe account more now, spreading the word through another link site. I would prefer that they use PayPal directly as other people have mentioned.
I do not know what this site is.I worked for them some years, they even sent me a gift card that did not work. Last year after many e-mails they apologized and told me that a new way of payment would be found. When? Nobody knows. They do not answer to my e-mails this year.It is such a pity to do this.I am writing this because there are still people who trust the site. I think Red Gage is only for the USA citizens.Nothing bad but what about the others? Red Gage knows very well that there is a problem with payments. This problem has been for many years. But they do not want to pay in other ways except the gift card. The question:Why? is with a crystal clear answer: because they do not have intention to pay to the non USA citizens.
It's the biggest scam website I have seen for non-us members. I received my card but I can't activate it. xx
